This entire past week has been cold, cloudy, and rainy. HIghs of only about 13 Celsius and no sign of the sun. In other words, real mid-October weather. I think the first two weeks of October, with its beautiful bright sunshine, sharp blue autumn skies, and mid-twenties weather has really spoiled us.
A farmer friend of ours optimistically told us yesterday that he believes more of an Indian summer is headed our way. He says because none of the trees have really lost their leaves yet, it’s a sign of more gorgeous warm weather that’s soon to head our way.
What do you all think? Are trees full of leaves still green a sign of a later Indian summer? Or is it just wishful thinking?
I’m not quite ready for winter, so I sure hope he’s right.
